A red grape from Bordeaux and the Loire Valley, more aromatic and lighter-bodied than Cabernet Sauvignon. In the registry it appears both as a standalone varietal label and as a declared blending component. Its label presence in the TTB database spans California, the Mid-Atlantic, and the Pacific Northwest.
