Willamette Valley
American Viticultural AreaEstablished 1983
Willamette Valley is Oregon's largest and most commercially significant AVA, established in 1983 under 27 CFR Part 9. It extends southward from the Columbia River through the broad valley between the Coast Range and Cascades. Cool maritime air from the Pacific moderates summer temperatures across the valley. Pinot Noir accounts for the largest share of COLA label filings associated with this appellation.
