Lodi is a Central Valley AVA established in 1986 under 27 CFR Part 9, located in San Joaquin County east of the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. Delta breezes moderate afternoon temperatures, distinguishing the area from the hotter interior Central Valley. Old-vine Zinfandel is the most commercially recognized variety in TTB COLA filings from this appellation, though it encompasses many other varieties at significant production volumes.
