Alexander Valley

Alexander Valley is a northern Sonoma County AVA established in 1984 under 27 CFR Part 9, running along the upper Russian River watershed near Healdsburg. Warmer and drier than coastal Sonoma appellations, the valley is best known commercially for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the TTB COLA registry. Its boundaries are defined by ridgelines on both sides of the valley floor.
