Porcaria
Porcaria is a named Etna contrada, part of the place vocabulary that increasingly appears on Etna labels. In red wines it most often points toward Nerello Mascalese, sometimes with Nerello Cappuccio, while white wines connect naturally to Carricante. The important idea for drinkers is volcanic origin at a finer scale than Etna DOC alone, with altitude, lava soils, and exposure shaping the wine. This entry is editorial and geographic, not a list of recommended estates.
Notable Rules
