CONTRADA · CONTRADA
Guardiola
Guardiola is a northern Etna contrada often used to illustrate the role of altitude in Etna wine. Reds from Nerello Mascalese can feel lifted, fragrant, and taut, while Carricante-based whites can show citrus, herbs, saline notes, and volcanic stone. The contrada name is a site cue that adds precision to the broader Etna DOC label.
Notable Rules
Named contrada origin is layered within Etna DOC; wines must still follow the DOC category and origin rules.
